Boplaas Guesthouse is an exceptional self-catering facility on the historic farm Boplaas, located in the Koue Bokkeveld north of Ceres, approximately 200 km from Cape Town.

- All the space and facilities you need
Guests have access to four tastefully furnished bedrooms, two high-quality bathrooms, two lounge areas (one particularly spacious with an indoor braai facility, the other with a built-in fireplace), and even a wonderful outdoors hot tub with a view!
- A fully equipped kitchen and scullery room
The kitchen has premium appliances including a gas stove, two combo fridge/freezers, a dishwasher, a washing machine and, in addition, ample and high-quality kitchen utensils and dinnerware.

Boplaas is located near to the popular Cederberg wilderness area known for its rugged and dramatic beauty. Guests can also explore, on day trips, two gravel backroads that lead to the towns of Citrusdal and Clanwilliam respectively.

Into History
Indulge in the farm’s significant family, cultural and national history. Established in 1743 and initially granted to Izaak van der Merwe, the farm has remained in the Van der Merwe family lineage through successive generations. It is the oldest family-owned business in South Africa, with Schalk van der Merwe, the tenth-generation custodian, currently managing the cultivation of the farm, which serves as home to him, his wife Kyla, and their youngest – an eleventh generation Van der Merwe – baby boy Fanie.
